healthy, aggressive fish. You may sign-up at any of the general
meetings or

| Wilms Ranch | |
| Date | April 10 |
| Location | Wilms Ranch, Pope Valley (east of St Helena 2 ½ to 3 hour drive from the Peninsula) |
| Details | One
Trout and two Bass ponds, on a ranch, about 100 miles north of Redwood
City, in the Pope Valley, east of St. Helena. This is private water and
the cost is usually $75 per rod. The owner, Paul Wilm, set the club
price at $50 if enough people sign up. Three or four tubers at one time
is the maximum on the trout pond, and about the same number on each
bass pond. There are some good, wadeable areas on the lower bass pond. Notes: (1) Cell phone service is very weak. (2) There is no drinking water at the ponds. (3) A rustic biffy is located down the road from the trout pond, across from the big hay barn. (4) The nearest town, Anguine, is Seventh Day Adventist, so closed on Saturday. Stop in St. Helena on the way for needed supplies. Wilms 2008 |

| Tenkara Fishout | |
| Date | August 21-22 |
| Location | Location will be a small
stream near Cherry Lake. We will meet at 9:00 am on August
7th. at the junction of HWY 120 and Cherry Lake Road. (this
location, as well at the access points are marked on a map that can be
found at: The trip will include a 20-30 minute hike over relatively easy terrain. For places to stay Daniel marked 2 good campgrounds on the map, Sweetwater just a couple of hundred yards East of Cherry Lake Rd on HWY 120 is good, but can be crowded. There should be no problem securing a spot in the morning (when people are leaving), but it’s tricky to get one in the afternoon, so I’d recommend those who want to camp should arrive before 9 and claim a spot before we meet. I often camp in the National Forest area, but will probably be at the camp this time. If you want a place to stay, there are a couple of lodges in Groveland and nearby. |
| Details | This fishout will be co-hosted by
Daniel Galhardo, founder of Tenkara USA and a past speaker at our
club. Daniel will demonstrate the Tenkara method of fly
fishing on this fishout so we will get a chance to watch an
expert. If you don't have a Tenkara rod, bring your small
stream set-up (this is not a Tenkara only fishout). We will
spend Saturday night at the campground where we can exchange fish
stories. The maximum number for this fishout is 12, so please
send me an email if you intend to go |

Sunday is optional. Tahoe offers a wide range of options; everything
from small streams to lakes. The fee will go to pay for the Saturday AM
