The president oversees all other officers, conducts board and general meetings, sets board agenda, appoints committees, selects program speakers, and selects and presents several annual awards.

The first vice-president's responsibilities are primarily to oversee the following committees: program speakers, raffle, hospitality, conservation, bulletin, mailing list, publiciy/advertising, historian, and honorary life members. When required to do so, the first vice-president temporarily assumes the duties of the president. The first vice-president is presumed to be a candidate for president in the next term. The first vice-president is responsible for the set-up of all meetings.

The second vice-president's responsilities are primarily to oversee the following committees: workshops, casting, fishouts, youth programs, membership, and scholarship. When requested to do so, the second vice-president represents the president. The second vice president is responsible for the take-down of all meetings.

The secretary takes minutes at board meetings and causes those minutes to be published, acts as custodian for all records except those specifically assigned to others, and takes care of correspondence.

The treasurer has custody of all funds, valuable papers, and property of the club. The treasurer deposits and disburses funds, maintains a full account of the finances and property of the organization, presents financial reports and annual budget proposals to the board.

In addition to the officers, the board is comprised of four directors who serve two-year terms and one director (usually the immediate past president) who serves for one year. When possible, two two-year members of the board are are replaced each year. Directors attend board meetings, participate in committees assigned by the president, and make policy for the organization.

There are special qualifications for advisory director. It is preferred that this position be filled by a former president or a life member. A special committee nominates and the board appoints a candidate to this position. In order to facilitate policy continuity and smooth transition between successive administrations, the term of office for advisory director runs from mid-term of the other offices, for two years, until mid-term. The advisory director consults on matters regarding long-term plans, bylaw changes, nominations, and policy.

The chief function of the bulletin editor is to inform club members on club matters and activities. The secondary function is to inform, entertain, and provide a forum on all matters fly fishing. The bulletin editor must combine as best he can the traits and skills of a publisher, reporter, and graphic artist. It is his responsibility to see that the bulletin is printed and distributed on time. He works closely with the website editor.

Maintaining and backing up the server files is the primary responsibility of the website editor. The editor also designs the appearance and architecture of the site. The majority of the articles published will be provided by the bulletin editor, but these articles should be enriched with pictures and links to fully utilize the capabilities of web publication. The website content should be updated monthly, to correspond to the publication of the printed bulletin. The past content should be archived so that members can readily access it.

The address keeper works with the treasurer and membership chairman to maintain a current list of all members in good standing and advertisers. The address keeper furnishes, when needed, address labels or lists to the bulletin editor and for any other official club need.

The membership chairman attends general and workshop meetings to greet and sign in members and visitors. He explains the club to prospective members and introduces them to the membership when they join. Annually, he manages the membership renewal process, coordinating with the treasurer, address keeper, and roster editor.

The nominating committee prepares a confidential slate of nominees for positions as officers, directors, and committee chairmen. The committee needs to be informed about the duties of the various club offices, and about the qualities and personalities of club members.
