Jim Johnston and friend Bob Moffat spent an October weekend fishing the ponds at Sugar Creek Ranch. The chunky trout liked a size-six, black, foam ant slapped down hard. Bob and Jim would see the wakes of big fish converging on the ant from several directions. The trout broke off a lot of flies until Bob and Jim beefed up their tippets.
