 Secretary And Director Found
what: Two good members have stepped forward to take the hitherto unfilled offices of secretary and one directorship. Thanks to Judy Decker, PFF's new secretary, and to Victor Inouye, who has accepted a directorship. Thanks go to them, and all the other officers, directors, chairmen, and volunteers who do their share to keep PFF operating.
  New Photos Of PFF Volunteers
what: If you are a PFF volunteer (officer, director, or committee chairman) and would like to get or change your picture on the website, Rodney or Dennis will be happy to snap a new photo. A photographer will be at the Workshop (Aug 5) and at the General Meeting (Aug 19).
price: $300 for full set, includes two 8x10 glossies, four 4x5 portrait, and 15 wallet-size (we keep one for nefarious porpoises). Bonus: poster-size picture of you, naked, on a white bearskin rug —no clipping the bearskin for fly tying material.
 Search The PFF Website
what: Courtesy of the search engine Google, the PFF website has a new feature: a search box. It is located on the home page, at the bottom of the left navigation column.
to use it: Click in the white text input box. Type in a search term, such as Almanor. Notice that the PFF button, rather than the Web button, is pre-selected. (You can search the whole world wide web by clicking the web button.) Click the Search button and Google will return a list of links to PFF pages with your search term(s). Try it out.
 Short Reports
what: We're adding a new section to our website: "The Short Reports". This section will contain any and all brief fishing reports from PFF members. So if you've had a great outing recently and want to share it with us, send the web editor a couple of paragraphs and a photo if you have one.
  Rod, Reel, Line For Sale
description: Like new condition: Sage RPL+ 5wt, two-piece; Ross Cimarron reel with backing and 6wt line (works well with this rod)
sad truth: In order to finance my habit of buying new rods (such as the T&T at the dinner) I need to sell one now and then.
price: $250 or best offer

  Newbie-Member Fishout on the McCloud
details: I have four rods reserved for this wonderful location which means three lucky members get to join me at the Preserve. To encourage newer members to particpate in PFF outings, initially this fishout will be open only to members who have joined the club since Jan 2003. (If we don't fill all the slots by the September General Meeting, "seasoned" members will be welcome to join us.)
accomodations: Generally, fishers camp at the nearby Ah-Di-Nah campground, which, unbelievably, features real plumbing. It is also possible to stay in the town of McCloud and drive the twenty miles or so to the Preserve. Be warned that seven of those miles are on a bumpy dirt forest road, so it is generally slow driving.
location: The Nature Conservancy McCloud Preserve
date: October 2 & 3, 2004 (Saturday and Sunday)

cost: $0
Roger Finke's Silver Salmon Alaska Fishout
when:18–25 September 2004
where:Tsiu River, Alaska

details: This stream, about midway between Cordova and Yakutat, is regarded by many as the premier Silver (Coho) salmon stream in Alaska. The fish are larger than in many other streams, ranging 20–25 pounds, and will readily take surface lures. We will overnight in Yakutat on the way up, and in Seattle on the way back, spending 5+ days fishing.
