Celebrating the Holidays

January 2005

Thanks to my brother's Tivo, I get to engage in an overdose of "A Christmas Carol" every year when I visit him. Of the many memorable quotes, one of my favorites is the scene after Christmas when Bob Cratchit rushes into the office with the apology that "I was making rather merry yesterday, sir." Well, at the PFF, we don't wait until Christmas to make merry. No, we start early. And here's photographic evidence.

overview scene
A good turnout this year.

The success of this dinner was, once again, made possible by a group of generous volunteers. Thanks to all of you who helped set up and take down, tied flies, donated auction items, and just plain showed up. Most of all, thanks to the heroic efforts (again) of Les "Camp Cook" Junge and his dedicated crew who slaved over the Highland Club's balky oven all afternoon to create a wonderful evening. You all deserve a round of applause.

Speaking for the club, we wish everyone an exciting and fishy 2005! May you find yourself in the middle of a caddis hatch with a matching fly this year.
