Ken Eugene won the Orvis Boron-Graphite rod which was built by Bob Schadle, then donated to PFF.

Having set a goal of beter organization, getting organized was not easy. Just about every committee post changed hands! And the new administration got off to a flying start when all the membership renewal records disappeared at the installation.

Despite weeknight football, things soon got rolling, and even when two board members dropped out at mid-year, George Acri and Jerry Sward stepped in and did a fine job.

Kathy Neubert became bulletin editor. Fishouts to Burney, Bodega and Truckee remained popular, as did the Shad fishout. The Redondo fishout was unofficial, but highly successful. Don Slaiter won the Fisher rod and Hardy Husky reel at our Christmas dinner, held at "The Fisherman"

Jack Cochrane held many fly tying classes and demos, while Jack and Jerry continued their casting academy. National Forrest plans seemed to come once a month, and Richard Izmirian took the time to study them and explain them to us. We were visited by Phil Pister, the "Golden Trout" man, and Grant King, among others. We took an interest in river safety, and in youth. The PFF Auction, hosted by Jack Oakley was a great success, and the proceeds are earmarked for guest speakers.

Many board members will stay on the job next year and Editor Neubert is continuing her fine work, while new members have jumped into committee positions. We have tried new ideas, like the "onstream clinic" at fishouts (thanks to Ernie Hufschmidt), and Jack Oakley's superbly planned PFF Auction. 1986 was hectic, but grand. I hope that I've served PFF well, and I'm proud to join the ranks of our distinguished past presidents.

Thank you all for your help, your ideas, enthusiasm and friendship. It has been a great year for me, and a great ten years for PFF. Let's all pitch in to make the next ten years better than ever!........Art
