At the last meeting, very few hands went up when I asked for fishing tales, and that just won't do. The season has opened so that excuse won't work anymore and the weather has been fantastic so don't use that one either. Some of you new members might try to use lack of a fishing partner as a reason for staying home but our website can hook you up with a fishing buddy today! The PFF has some really great fishouts coming up and many of our more seasoned fly fishers love to give tips to the rookies. So stop waxing your ferrules, cleaning your lines, and practicing your knots and actually get out there and fish. And don't forget to bring a picture or two to the meeting to brag to the rest of us.
The installation dinner is quickly approaching, and I know that Dave and George are looking forward to a lot of fantastic flies from our creative group of tyers. If fly tying is not your bag, how about a donation to our raffle? I look forward to seeing all of you there when the new president takes office. And don't forget that we still have a few positions on the board of directors which need to be filled!
Our speaker for May is Jimmie Morales. Jimmie is an Orvis-endorsed guide, and his presentation is about the Merced River and other waters of the High Sierras. Dinner with Jimmie will be at Harry's Hofbrau (The Carvery) in RWC at 6 pm. See you there!
