Now that Taxes are Behind Us

PFF president Rich Catanzaro

The shows are behind us, and so are taxes. Now is the time to plan those trips for the year. The fish-out schedule is filling in nicely, so check out the web page and mark the dates on your calendar.

Hopefully you have been attended the tying workshops and have a good supply of rubber legs, caddis, hopper and other patterns for the year. It's time to use them. And if you are a tier, don't forget to join on of the on-going fly swaps.

While thinking of fly fishing let's take a short moment and look at joining the Federation of Fly Fishers. This organization helps protect nearly all of the waters we enjoy. It is made up of fly fishers just like you and me, and they support many great fly fishing-related activities. Here in Northern California they sponsor both the Hall of Fame and the Conclave that many of us enjoy and participate-in each year. The PFF certainly enjoys your participation and invites you to likewise expand your sphere of influence and join the FFF.

Finally, after a hiatus last month, the casting class will be back in swing in April. Be there and get tuned up for the season. Wayne Taylor, I am glad to report, is doing much better. However, he's not out of the woods yet, and recommends that everyone take precautions by getting medical checkups on a regular basis. Keep up the good work Wayne – we all look forward to your return.
