The seasons change and suddenly the holidays are upon us. The fishing marks these changes by taking on new forms. Steelhead fill the rivers and the anticipation of Santa's arrival increases. If only he would bring that new rod, reel, waders or _________. For those of you still puzzling about what to put in the blank, check out this month's article on holiday gifts for some interesting (and inexpensive) ideas.
Also, the chef (Les "Santa" Junge) and his elves need to know if you intend to attend the holiday festivities on December 16 so that the supply sled will bring enough cheer and good-will to go round. Sign up for the holiday dinner if you haven't done so already. Many of your friends and fellow club members will be celebrating and we hope to see everyone there. And if you are a fly tier, don't forget to contribute a box or two of flies to the club's silent auction, held during the dinner.
On a more serious issue, the casting chairman, Wayne Taylor, made a quick visit to the hospital. The news is good. Just this date he returned home and is doing much better. Please join me in wishing him good health.
Have a great holiday, and may your stockings be filled to overflowing.
