The New Year is now past and the 2005 fishing season will soon be upon us. The fish masters and board are hard at work creating new opportunities and activities for the benefit and enjoyment of all.
There are several waters open and trout fishing is not the only species waiting for your fly to be properly presented. February sees the opportunity for white bass and the International Sportsman's show... Soon Spring will be here and with that comes the top water action of species with a real attitude, BASS. Spring is the time of year that Mr. and Mrs. BASS look to populate the lakes with their fry. It is this time of year that they build their nests and protect them from all other interlopers, whether that happens to be insect or fish.
Prepare for some outstanding fun as Mr. & Mrs. BASS attack top water poppers.
Recently I heard one of the other clubs in the area braved the ravages of winter and made a fish out at Lewiston. They saw numerous fish and managed to catch a few with more long range releases than nets. Nevertheless, it was reported that all that went had a great, but cold time.
Perhaps with a fish master stepping forward the PFF may return to Lewiston. If you can lead an outing, contact Mike McGuire to coordinate it.
All the best in the New Year.
