General Meeting February 18th

Guest Speaker Bill Scharninghausen

Presentation and discussion of Surf and striped Bass Fishing. Plus fly tying those special Saltwater flies.

Bill is on the pro staff at the California Fly shop and has been the shop's fly tying instructor for 15 years. Bill learned to fly fish at the tender age of 10 and has  extensive backpacking and fly fishing experience in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the Wind Rivers in Wyoming, the Sawtooths in Idaho and the Rockies in Colorado. Bill enjoys fishing high altitude back country lakes and streams, especially small, mountain freestone streams with dry flies and bamboo rods. Bill  also has extensive experience fishing in salt water, particularly in the surf zone, as well as regularly fishing for striped bass in the Delta and in San Luis Reservoir. In addition, Bill  has a passion for top water fishing for largemouth bass and chasing smallmouths in California's rivers and streams. With two kids at the University of Colorado, he's explored many of the waters of the Front Range of the Rockies. Does he have a favorite stream? " A very small creek on the west slope of the Central Sierras that has lots of feisty brown trout and is probably not fished by anyone else since its so remote. It's a secret............it actually has a name, but I'm not tellin'".

Let me know if you need further info.

Tight Lines,

Bill
