Ken Eugene Memorial Knot Tying Clinic

Richard Izmirian will attempt to channel the Club’s late uber mentor to demonstrate and teach the Club knot – the Eugene Bend.  The eponymous Ken Eugene developed the super 100% terminal knot while in the Navy stationed in the South Pacific in the early 1940’s.  Those of us who were privileged to know and learn from Ken strive to continue his legacy.

The clinic is for those who are new to the Eugene bend, need a refresher with the knot, or use the knot all the time and want to help teach this simple and highly effective knot to others.  We will tie and test, tie and test – develop muscle memory and make it second nature.  We will also learn a couple of tying variations and demonstrate the Eugene Sling, a 100% loop knot.

Join us at 7:30 PM, June 7 at the Highland Community Center, 1665 Fernside Street, Redwood City.  Tippet and hooks will be provided.
