"Assessing Stream Health" by Terry Short

This promises to be a very exciting meeting that you don't want to miss.

Terry Short, aquatic ecologist for USGS and member of PFF, will share results from the largest stream study performed nationwide.

1) How can we determine if a stream is healthy or impaired

2) Examples of how stream health is evaluated by the USGS National Water-Quality Assessment Program

3) Examples of non-native species in California and across the country

4) Results on the effects of riparian forest loss to stream communities

5) Illustrate how to make the best use of stream restoration efforts.

Terry will also share website information on sampling methods and conservation that is of interest to all of us.

Terry Short coordinated stream ecological studies for the US Geological Survey's National Water-Quality Assessment Program in the western US, Alaska, and Hawaii.
