January Meeting -- Peter Drekmeier, Tuolumne River Trust and Member Swap Meet

  • January 16, 2020
  • 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • 1665 Fernside Street, Redwood City, CA 94061

Peter Drekmeier, Tuolumne River Trust and Member Swap Meet (7 pm start)

The Tuolumne River Trust is the voice for the Tuolumne River. We protect and restore the Tuolumne River and its watershed for present and future generations.

Peter Drekmeier, Policy Director, will talk after the swap meet about the Trust and will focus on the Tuolumne River ecosystem and the Bay Delta Water Quality Control Plan, which should be of interest to every PFF member.

Biography:

Peter Drekmeier joined the Trust in August 2007. Raised in Palo Alto on Hetch Hetchy water, Peter knows the Bay Area well. In 1990 he founded Bay Area Action (now Acterra), and has coordinated two international Earth Day campaigns. He has extensive experience working on land use initiatives. Peter is a whitewater rafting guide and a former mayor of Palo Alto.

Starting 7:00 pm - Member Swap Meet and Pizza!

Members --

Do you have any unused fly fishing equipment (new or used) that could still be used by a PFF member?  Or newer members -- are you looking for a good deal on an additional fly rod, reel, or other equipment?

For January's meeting, we will host a member swap meet instead of having our monthly raffle, which will resume in February.  Here are some guidelines for the swap meet:

Sellers:

  • Arrive around 6:45 pm to display your equipment or goods (fly tying material, tools) or other fly fishing accessories.
  • All items for sale must be clearly marked with prices.
  • Stay near your sale items (or put your name on them) so interested buyers can locate you.
  • The swap meet will end at 7:45 pm.
  • If any equipment or goods are not sold by the end of the swap meet, please take them with you.  If you wish to donate your unsold goods to PFF, please see Dale Emerson, PFF Raffle Chairman, who will be at the swap meet.  Please understand that we cannot accept all unused equipment even if it's free.

PFF will also have a few older items for sale that are not for the raffle or auctions.  This list will be published later.

All transactions for equipment or goods are between buyer and seller regarding price and payment method.  PFF will not collect any money or be involved in any transactions.

Pizza and Salad!

PFF will provide pizza and salad starting 7:00 pm so there will not be a pre-meeting dinner at City Pub.  Members can buy water or soft drinks at the meeting.
