Little Creek Outfitters in Maupin, OR is a professional, fly-fishing guide service that Mia Shepphard and her husband Marty have owned since 2003.  They take pride in being an outfitter that is deep rooted in fly-fishing, conservation, stewardship and soul since 1984.  LCO offers guided trips in Central Oregon for steelhead, smallmouth bass and rainbow trout.  Their home waters they guide on include the Deschutes, Grand Ronde, John Day and Sandy rivers.

Mia's presentation will cover fly fishing opportunities on some of Oregon's best rivers, The Deschutes, John Day, Grande Ronde, and Sandy Rivers. She will explain techniques used for steelhead fishing with a two handed rod as well as opportunities that exist for trout and smallmouth bass.

Biography:

World champion spey caster, accomplished guide, conservationist,  upland bird hunter, snowboarder, and mother, Mia Sheppard, grew up in Tennessee, chasing trout and hiking the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains. Fly fishing caught her attention in 1996 and in 2003, Mia started her guiding career on the John Day River. Mia soon became efficient at casting both a single and double hand rod and is now recognized as one of the top women spey casters in the industry and has used her casting skills to raise over $18,000 for Casting for Recovery. When she isn’t on the river, or being a mother, she is working to engage more women and children in the sport of fly-fishing and the outdoors through her company Juniper River Adventures

As always, members can join the speaker and other members at 5:30 pm for dinner and a beverage beforehand at City Pub, 2620 Broadway, Redwood City, CA 94063.
