Jon Baiocchi Still Water Fishout workshop, NEW DATES Lake Davis OCTOBER 11,12, 2020 


Description: 

Fly fishing Lake Davis is a must experience for the stillwater fly angler. and is one of the best trophy trout lakes in the Northern California. Lake Davis was made for fly fishing with its fertile shallows that offer the finest trout stalking from shore, and submerged creek beds that hold large rainbows. Sitting at 5,885 feet, this beautiful lake in eastern Plumas County is surrounded by tamarack pines and lush meadows which display abundant wildflowers.You have got to wet a line and fly fish here to believe it, its an amazing experience!


Workshop Schedule: October 11, Time 7:30-3:00 PM

Cost $135 (includes gratuity) per person, 6 person limit.


The day will consist of a morning briefing on current lake conditions at the selected fish out site. Jon will then show members 4 different ways to rig for the lake (stripping from the float tube, stripping from the bank/or shallow water, regular indo, deep water indo), then go over tactics. Break for lunch, talk about the fishing, answer questions, go fish again, regroup at around 3pm  follow up with a debriefing - End of day.  Rigging supplies, handouts, and maps will be included. Jon will take two members out for a 1.5 hour fishing session on his boat, and rotate with other club members if desired.

Float with Jon option October 12.  (2 anglers $475) This offer is good only for those who participate in the workshop. You will need to contact Jon directly 530-228-0487. The remaining attendees will have open fishing for the day.  Reservations need to be confirmed by June 15th.

No lunch, no flies will be provided. A bug list and gear recommendations will be sent out prior to the event.

J&J's Grizzly Store and Camping Resort is located in the high sierra mountains in Portola, California, at the northern most part of the Feather River. We are located approximately 1/2 mile from the Lake Davis Dam. We are close to the quaint town of Portola, California that is well-known for the beautiful Lake Davis, the Feather River, Portola's Western Pacific Railroad Museum, James Beckwourth Historical Museum, the Historical William's House Museum, to mention a few. PFF members may stay in Reno because it has more lodging options and  may consider fishing Pyramid Lake one day to fish for the lake's giant Pilot Peak strain of the Lahontan Cutthroat trout. Note that it's an hour drive from Reno to Lake Davis and the Friday workshop starts at 7:30 am!
