Meeting Location and Time.

The meeting spot for this trip is Plumas Pines Resort at 2:00 pm. Plumas Pines Resort, 3000 Almanor Drive West, Canyon Dam, CA 95923 Directions: Off Highway 89 take a right on Almanor Drive West. Head East down towards the lake. After the dog leg right in the road – Plumas Pines Resort will be on your right-hand side.

The “Hex Tour” is a simple right to the point tour. The focus point is the Hexagenia and the areas at Lake Almanor where it is found. We drive the west shore of the lake pointing out access areas, fishing tips for each fishing access and the equipment and flies that we use during our guiding operation. The tour is much more about where and when. We cover the entomology of the Hexagenia and why it’s found at Lake Almanor. This hands-on tour gives the fly fisher a firm understanding on the Hex.

The tour includes a lake front tri-tip dinner, rigging and an evening of fishing on the lake. The tour starts at 2:00pm and ends at dark after fishing. Handouts on the tour are provided, including a map of the lake, equipment and rigging setups and a breakdown of the areas where you will find the Hex. Note: Hex bug pack available at a cost of $45.00. Need to know total bug pack by MAY 15.

Tour fee is $90 per Rod for the tour, minimum of 6 anglers, maximum 8.
