October Meeting -- Jon Baiocchi, Baiocchi's Troutfitters

  • October 15, 2020
  • 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Zoom videoconferencing

Master fly angler Jon Baiocchi, owner/lead guide of Baiocchi's Troutfitters, returns to PFF to talk about fly fishing Sierra stillwaters.  Specifically, Lake Davis has made a comeback in hosting large rainbow trout, and fishes well late spring through early summer, and then again in the fall.  Jon will present how to fish Lake Davis and nearby stillwaters like Frenchmen Lake.

Biography:

Baiocchi’s Troutfitters is the premiere guide service for the Northern Sierra, and has become recognized as the leader in guest services and instruction. Jon has has been a serious fly angler since 1972, and an independent fly fishing guide since 1997.

Jon’s Dad, Bob Baiocchi, moved his family from San Jose to Paradise, CA in 1967 to be closer to prime fly fishing venues, and to raise his family in the spectacular conifer forests of Northern California.  Bob Baiocchi was inducted into the Federation of Fly Fishers Hall of Fame in 1999, and was a major influence in helping Jon hone his fly fishing skills at a very young age.

As always, members can join the speaker and other members at 5:30 pm for dinner and a beverage beforehand at City Pub, 2620 Broadway, Redwood City, CA 94063.
