The Truckee River fishout this year will be the first weekend of the winter fishing season.  Both the Truckee and the Little Truckee are open year round and we can benefit from this while the crowds are gone.

Weather can be a factor this time of year, but more often than not the weather is fine, the water cold and the fish hungry and ready to feed before the real winter kicks in.

We have two spacious houses available from members that can accommodate about 15 people on Friday and Saturday night. We will fish Saturday and usually several of us go out on Sunday for a half or full day to catch some more.

Most of us plan to arrive on Friday afternoon or night, but you can drive up early on Saturday morning too. Detailed logistics will follow as we get closer.

On Friday night we are welcome at EJ's place for food and drinks and on Saturday we will have a pot-luck at Rich Slade's house. The club will supply  the 3 B's, burgers, brats and beer.  The members supply the salad, appetizers and deserts.

The Truckee and the Little Truckee are great rivers this time of year. Rods are typically 4-6 wt. Nymphing is consistently good, dries and streamers can be great or nothing depending on the day. Be prepared for all conditions.

Cost: $30 for food + drinks
